The Silver Lake Community Association (SLCA) has organized a series of weekend “work parties” to perform some significant maintenance on our lake’s spillway.
The current Silver Lake spillway was built in 1963 – 1965. It was constructed by SLCA property owners working weekends through-out two summers when the lake was drawn down. As legend goes, by mid-afternoon work would knock off and one or more cottages would host a good feed with plenty of beer, fun and laughter.
Today, Silver Lake volunteers are saving all residents thousands of dollars in contractor fees. If you are not volunteering, please take the time to thank those who are giving up their weekends to maintain our beautiful lake.
